Son of Frankenstein (1939) [Last Updated: 11/10/03]
Boris Karloff stars for the last time in the role that made him a screen legend in this, the second sequel to the famous horror classic.

The son of Dr. Frankenstein returns to his ancestral castle some 25 years after the infamous monster's "death." There he meets Ygor (Bela Lugosi), a mad shepherd who is hiding the lifeless body of the creature. At Ygor's urging, the young Dr. Frankenstein (Basil Rathbone) revives his father's creation in the hope of rehabilitating him and clearing the family name. But once the creature is awakened, Ygor sends him on a killing spree that spreads a new panic throughout the town.

Praise by critics as one of the best of the "Frankenstein" series, this film is a worthy heir to the landmark original.
