Puppet Master vs. Demonic Toys (December 18th, 2004) - Buy it on DVD [Last Updated: 12/03/05]
Directed By: Ted Nicolaou (Subspecies series)

In this long-awaited cinematic showdown, descendants of the Puppet Master find the formula for reanimating their ancestor's creations. A rival, however, plans to steal this power for itself. Corey Feldman (Gremlins, The Lost Boys) and Vanessa Angel (SCI FI Pictures' Out for Blood and Sabretooth) star.

WORLD PREMIERE: Saturday, Dec. 18, at 9PM ET/PT

Synopsis:
It’s the night before Christmas Eve, and oddball inventor Robert Toulon (Corey Feldman of THE GOONIES and STAND BY ME) has discovered his great granduncle’s formula for reanimating the master’s lethal puppets: Six-Shooter, Jester, Blade and Pinhead. Meanwhile, diabolical industrialist Erica Sharpe (Vanessa Angel of KINGPIN and WEIRD SCIENCE) is finalizing her satanic plan for unleashing her father’s foul-mouthed, blood-guzzling toys upon the world’s underprivileged children. But even if Toulon can give the puppets a deadly cyber makeover and stop the blood sacrifice of his daughter, can he still prevent the coming Christmas carnage? Playtime is over: Get ready for the final battle between the ultimate titans of toy terror!

1) Charles Band/Full Moon had no part in making the movie. The rights have been sold to Sci-Fi; they are the ones who produced the movie.

2) The movie was shot in Sofia, Bulgaria.

3) All puppets / toys were fabricated from scratch. No "leftovers" were used.

10/25/04 Puppetmaster vs. Demonic Toys Air Dates
Fangoria reports that The Sci Fi Channel has announced that it will premiere Puppet Master VS Demonic Toys, the long-awaited matchup of the deadly playthings, on Saturday, December 18 at 9 p.m. Corey (BORDELLO OF BLOOD) Feldman stars as Robert Toulon, great-nephew of original puppetmaster Andre Toulon, who brings the puppets back to life with the help of his daughter Alex (SABRETOOTH’s Vanessa Angel). They are soon pursued by a mysterious toymaking syndicate that seeks the Toulons’ reanimation formula in order to turn their line of dolls into vicious killers on Christmas Eve. Directed by Ted (SUBSPECIES) Nicolaou from a script by Courtney Joyner and Nicolaou, the movie will be rebroadcast at 1 a.m. that night and then on Thursday, December 23 at 9 p.m.

10/12/04 Puppet Master vs. Demonic Toys Airs on Sci-Fi December
Fangoria talked with Jeff Farley of the Obscure Artifacts FX company who recently returned from Sofia, Bulgaria, where he and associate Christopher Bergschneider handled the creature and makeup work for the long-awaited Puppet Master vs. Demonic Toys. "We redesigned [the characters] while still keeping true to the originals," Farley tells Fango, "and I’m very proud of what we’ve accomplished. The script [originally by Courtney Joyner, and rewritten by director Ted Nicolaou] is quite good, with an emphasis on humor rather than keeping the serious tone of the other films. We’re all treating this as a separate entity from the [previous two film] series. Oh, and did I mention that it’s set during Christmas? Melanie Tooker stayed over from MAN WITH THE SCREAMING BRAIN to help us, and Gary [SPIDERS] Jones directed 2nd unit.

"The crew also included Bud McGrew, Mark Shostrom, Thomas Mounkes, Fred Marino, Dirk Von Besser, Frances Scott, Tim Kennedy, Edward French, Ana Catalanotte, Dragon Dronet from Renegade Effects, Paul Schmid, Karen Cardier, Paul Vincent Fusco and the amazing Jana Stoyanova and Miglena Bogdanova—my local Bulgarian crew," Farley adds. The artist doesn’t want to let slip his redesigns of the puppets and toy characters just yet, but he did pass along the photos seen above of himself making up Anton Falk as the demon Bael, and the creature attacking Nicolaou. The movie will premiere on the Sci Fi Channel in December.

HorrorDVDs.com has been in contact with them as well and have some additional information to share with everyone:

1) Charles Band/Full Moon had no part in making the movie. The rights have been sold to Sci-Fi; they are the ones who produced the movie.

2) The movie was shot in Sofia, Bulgaria.

3) All puppets / toys were fabricated from scratch. No "leftovers" were used.

Obscure Artifacts also sent HorrorDVDs some pictures - one of Jack-In-The-Box and one of completely redesigned Baby Oopsy. "Both look terrific, especially Baby Oopsy - it's a big improvement over the original." No solid DVD plans have been released at this point.
